Park Royal Business Group Breakfast Forums are a space to network and discuss pertinent issues with fellow businesses from Park Royal and further afield over a cooked breakfast, tea and coffee.

Theme: ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND COMMUNICATION -

"How can you ensure your people have the essential (‘soft’) skills needed to help you grow your business?"

An interactive and discussion-based looking at effective management skills and how to motivate your team members.

Workplace conversations are crucial to engaging and motivating others, developing talent, retaining good people, building high-performing teams and creating great places to work. Calling these 'soft skills' arguably downplays their importance in the success of any business, which is why Skills Builder and West London Business have long called them ‘Essential’ skills.

This workshop will give attendees some practical techniques which they can use immediately, which will help them be more effective in the way they manage and motivate others.

      Speakers

Angela McHale and Tim Kane of Kane McHale Associates

Tim and Angela will introduce a user-friendly model, make use of performed scenarios and forum theatre to bring this theory to life, spark discussion and share good practice. Particularly aimed at people who run businesses or those with supervisory responsibility.  There will be a short Q&A session at the end.

Kane McHale specialise in helping people become more effective in their professional communication.  They are facilitators, communication coaches and actors. They combine these elements to create a blended-learning approach.

Tim is a communication coach, facilitator and role-player. He has worked in this field for over 20 years and across many sectors – Banking, Pharmaceutical, Telecoms, Social and Broadcast Media, Law, Charity, Government, and with individual politicians. He helps individuals to develop their interpersonal and leadership skills as well as being a highly-experienced presentation skills coach. Angela is a facilitator, role-player and writer of drama-based training programmes. With a BA in Politics from Warwick University and a post-graduate diploma in Acting, Angela set about building a career as an actress.  Along the way, she became fascinated with using drama in corporate training and realised how much she enjoyed helping others improve their communication skills. Working with emerging leaders and senior teams, Angela’s experience is greatest in performance management, personal impact and unconscious bias. She also has a particular interest in women in leadership. For ten years she was a director of Steps, a large drama-based training organisation. She has won a CIPD award for her work.
