The Greater London Authority’s Infrastructure Coordination Service is undertaking a survey on electricity challenges that developments may be facing in West London boroughs – parts of Hounslow, Hillingdon, and Ealing (as well as OPDC).

The GLA first undertook a developer survey in Summer 2022, and they are now intending to

1) identify any developments they are not aware of that are facing issues securing power, so that they can support developers in resolving them; and

2) measure any progress to date. If you do have power secured for your site, it will still be helpful for the GLA to hear from you.

The survey should take less than 10 minutes and should not require input from your consultants. Even if you are already in touch with the GLA about a scheme, do still include it. Please submit separate forms for each development you are aware of in the affected area.

The GLA would welcome your responses by 31 October 2023.

If you would like more information about electricity capacity issues in West London, and solutions that are in place that may help, you can view the GLA’s three update documents here.

The GLA will keep your responses confidential, except for sharing information with SSEN and National Grid ESO in order to work through outstanding connection issues.  The GLA may also analyse responses from this survey and share the findings in aggregate.
