Invitation: SEC2U business startup and accelerator events at GSM London Greenford Tuesday October 24th & GSM London Greenwich Wednesday October 25th
You are cordially invited to participate in this event focused on startup and growing enterprises in West London and South East London as part of StartUp Europe Comes to Universities (SEC2U), an initiative of StartUp Europe University Network (SEUN).
The main objective of the SEC2U events is to showcase the commitment of European universities to create a strong culture of entrepreneurship and innovation that is spreading in the university communities.
The event will be hosted by GSM London at its Greenford and Greenwich campuses and supported by GSM London Careers and Employability and GSM London Formation Zone.
The major theme of the event is:
‘From Start-up to Scale-up: Helping new business to accelerate’
This will build upon the outputs of the 2016 GSM London SEC2U event which found that in the London context there was an increasing need for relevant programmes and support for ‘acceleration’ of new growing enterprises in order to achieve successful scale-up.
The 2017 SEC2U event will draw upon the research and insights of a key practitioner in the successful scaling-up of enterprises and will include practical cases of entrepreneurs who have been through a recent scale-up programme in conjunction with the Formation Zone at GSM London.
The two events will be hosted by GSM London on consecutive days in Greenford and Greenwich and will be attended by GSM London enterprising students and alumni, local entrepreneurs, private and public business service providers and support agencies, business associations and representative organisations, local authorities, and institutions of further and higher education. There will be opportunities for B2B networking via the ‘marketplace’ and post-conference reception at each event.
The event will run from 3pm to 6pm on Tuesday October 24th in Greenford, West London and Wednesday October 25th in Greenwich, South East London and will include
- Insights from the work of a European scale-up specialist
- Inputs from entrepreneurs on key issues involved in business growth and scale-up
- Perspectives of support organisations involved in incubation and acceleration programmes
- Policies and initiatives required to enhance opportunities for successful start-up and scale-up, including the role of HEIs
- Opportunity for networking and building B2B connections
