West London Business member JCDecaux celebrated the 10th anniversary of JCDecaux Nurture, its programme for startups and scale-ups, with an official Market Close ceremony at the London Stock Exchange on Tuesday 15 September. Jean-François Decaux (Co-Chief Executive Officer of JCDecaux) rang the closing bell in front of founders, CEOs, investors and partners from across the UK’s scale-up ecosystem.
Nurture launched in the UK in 2016 and helps high-growth businesses build their brands through Out-of-Home advertising. In its first ten years, it has supported more than 500 UK businesses, delivered more than 2,000 campaigns and generated over 30 billion audience impressions. Sixteen of the businesses it has backed have gone on to reach unicorn status.
The programme now runs in 13 markets worldwide. Across those markets it has supported more than 1,000 startups and SMEs through nearly 3,000 campaigns and 50 billion impressions.
Dame Julia Hoggett, CEO of London Stock Exchange plc, said: “The UK continues to be home to an exceptional community of entrepreneurs building innovative businesses and creating long-term economic value.”
Jean-François Decaux, Co-Chief Executive Officer of JCDecaux, said: “JCDecaux was an entrepreneurial business just like many of the companies we are celebrating today – a great idea that started in Lyon in 1964 and scaled to the world. Supporting the next generation of businesses is incredibly important to us, and it is why we started Nurture ten years ago.”
