Berkeley have planned over 100 opportunities for people to build skills and knowledge around apprenticeship opportunities and what they can offer.
Virtual Work Experience:
36 young people from London and the South West have signed up to complete a two-week virtual work experience in either the Technical, Commercial or Land and Planning department.
‘From Dirt to Delivery’ Challenge:
20 teachers will take part in a challenge which helps broaden participants’ knowledge about the property development sector. This fun CPD opportunity will provide up to date careers information for attendees and their students.
‘More to a Construction Site’:
This July Berkeley will be hosting dozens of people at Oval Village, 9 Millbank, Green Park Village and Hartland Village to give them site tours and briefings about how housebuilding works.
‘A Day in the Life Of’ for A-Level Students:
By the end of 2021, four young people will have shadowed a Berkeley St Edward director, getting a unique and rare opportunity to work alongside our most senior company leaders, getting a real insight into how the company works.
‘It’s All About a Diverse Workforce’:
Up to 30 industry representatives and representatives will be joining Berkeley in London, Reading and Fleet to discuss what we can do to boost diversity in apprenticeships across the housebuilding industry.
Virtual Construction Treasure Hunt:
Up to 12 participants are invited to work with Berkeley’s commercial, technical and planning teams so they can crack the code and learn about housebuilding along the way.
Launch of Berkeley St Edward Apprenticeship Programme:
At the end of the week, Berkeley is thrilled to be launching a bespoke apprenticeship programme for the division which will see the employment of up to 20 apprentices directly with us or our supply chain.
