SEGRO AWARDS £24,000 TO CHARITIES IN WEST LONDON
SEGRO commits additional £115,000 to SEGRO Community Fund in 2018
24 charities to receive funding this year
In total SEGRO Community Fund has donated £340,000
SEGRO, Europe’s leading owner and developer of modern big box and urban warehouses, has pledged over £24,000 to help young and vulnerable people into work across West London.
The Fund, which was established in 2015, focusses on supporting young and vulnerable individuals towards employment, has now provided £340,000 to 66 charities, directly helping 2,000 people across London and the Thames Valley.
SEGRO works with the London Community Foundation and Berkshire Community Foundation to distribute its SEGRO Community Fund grant. Each foundation operates independently, benefiting from strong relationships in their respective communities.

“The SEGRO Community Fund is a great way for us to support grass root community projects and local charities that have a positive impact in the communities where we operate.
We are proud to assist these organisations with the great work they do to support young people and ensure those in vulnerable or disadvantaged positions have a pathway into employment.”
Panathlon Challenge was awarded £4,998 by the SEGRO Community Fund. Ashley Iceton, Chief Executive, said:
“On behalf of Panathlon Challenge, I want to convey my thanks to the team at SEGRO for their generous grant in support of our Young Leader programme. Panathlon Challenge exists to unlock sporting opportunities for over 17,900 disabled children and young people each year – inspiring one of the most disadvantaged groups of children in our society to become active for the long term. Support from The London Community Foundation and SEGRO over the year ahead will enable us to engage and train young people with our Young Leader programme in a number of priority London Boroughs – helping to build their skills, experience and work-readiness.”
In West London the beneficiaries are:
- Panathlon Challenge (£4,998)
Children’s charity Panathlon Challenge provide sports competitions and training days for young disadvantaged and disabled people across the UK.
- Smart Works Charity (£5,000)
Smart Works Charity offers interview clothing and coaching to unemployed women.
- Straight Talking Peer Education (£5,000)
Straight Talking is a youth charity that supports disadvantaged young parents back into the world of education and employment.
- Feltham Community Development Association (£5,000)
The FCDA works with residents, local authorities to support the needs of disadvantaged and vulnerable children and young people locally.
- Refuge (£4,540)
Refuge supports refuges with a range of services, independent advocacy and community outreach services.
