West London Business is currently recruiting for two intern positions within our Events & Policy and Communications teams.

Internships at West London Business are usually aimed at those in need of a sandwich placement as part of their course – ideally in their second year or beyond of a bachelor’s degree in a business discipline or a similar field. We will also welcome applications from postgraduates who are lacking practical experience – if the internship time commitment (6 months) can be honoured.

The Awards Officer/Events Intern gains experience assisting our Policy & Events Manager in all aspects of event planning including processing and managing delegates’ registrations and bookings, processing invoices, promoting our events on social media, calling members to invite them to attend the events, liaising with delegates and assisting with event delivery. These events include Park Royal Business Breakfasts, the West London Business Christmas Reception, Creative Digital Network Showcases and the West London Business Awards 2025.

The Membership and Marketing intern assists our Member Services team in all aspects of marketing and client relationship management including processing membership sign ups, creating invoices, promoting the membership and events on Social Media, marketing our member value proposition and meeting with members to understand their business needs. There is also substantial opportunity to learn about a great deal of ‘behind the scenes’ communications work such as scheduling, planning and audience insights.

  • These positions are structured as full-time educational placements (Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm – some events take place early morning or evening and will require flexibility). However, we are able to consider reduced hours if you have external commitments
  • Applicants must be within travelling distance of Shepherds Bush, London W12 as office working is required
  • Travel and lunch expenses are covered

What we can offer you…

  • Real experience and responsibility inside a dynamic non-profit organisation
  • Exposure to senior business leaders from across West London and the opportunity to build your professional network
  • Ongoing mentoring and guidance to build your skills
  • Variety & challenge – you will never be bored!

To find out more and apply, read the full role specification for your chosen role below. We anticipate that roles can commence from September 2024.
