The West London Retail Skills Hub has moved to a new location within Westfield London, Europe’s largest shopping centre, marking the next stage in its mission to support the region’s retail sector. The hub will now operate from the Southern Interchange of Westfield London, approximately 50 yards from Shepherd’s Bush Tube Station (W12 7FD).
The Retail Skills Hub is a collaboration between West London College, Youth Careers Collective and Westfield London, with support from Ethos Farm, West London Business, and the West London Chamber of Commerce. Together, these partners work to connect employers and jobseekers across the retail industry, ensuring the sector has access to the skills and talent it needs to thrive.
Opened in September 2024, the Hub was developed in response to the West London Local Skills Improvement Plan, which identified a significant skills and labour shortage, along with a clear need for focused training in retail. By offering specialist training and recruitment services, the Hub supports businesses across the region in addressing skills gaps, while simultaneously encouraging and helping people to consider and access employment in the sector — giving jobseekers real opportunities to start or grow their retail careers.
The Hub has enjoyed a strong year, engaging with more than 250 retail employers, delivering training, support and information, advice and guidance (IAG) to over 2,000 candidates, and successfully placing 77 people into work.
The new space at Westfield will allow the team to build on this momentum, growing its training, engagement and recruitment activity to further support the retail employers and wider community of West London.
